Frequently Asked Questions

The products that Good Earth Packaging carries that are listed as “compostable friendly” or “certified compostable” mean that they are fit for processing in certain commercial recycling facilities that also compost raw materials.

These plant based plastics (Crystallized PLA) only start to break down under certain temperatures, and may not be fit to compost at home in your garden or in your compost bin because the specific temperatures are not met in the same regard. We recommend that you recycle these units that are PLA friendly as usual, and the recycling facility will take care of the rest.

Ever seen a paper straw in a compostable cup or a fibre-based to-go container with your takeaway food inside, from a restaurant? If you have then chances are we carry it!

We also carry such items including wooden cutlery and plates, compostable cutlery, cold and hot cups, plastic free PLA based disposable straws, food service disposable dinnerware, which are all designed with practicality and today’s trends in mind.


You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a refund.  We will gladly refund your order for the price of the returned merchandise less shipping fees.  Please contact us for authorization prior to returning the items.

Shipping costs for refused or undeliverable packages are non refundable.  This includes shipping costs to send and to have the items returned to us.

With any samples, we first ask for a small upfront payment to cover shipping costs, which, if you decide to order with us after receiving your sample, this cost will be deducted from your final order cost.

Shipping Information

We ship from our warehouse in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. We have efficient and low cost shipping throughout Canada and the USA.

Orders placed before 1pm MST (3pm EST) are often shipped the same day we receive them. Occasionally, we may need an additional day for processing. Some special order items require more time for processing.

Free Shipping

We offer free ground shipping to most locations in Canada and USA on website orders over $399 (after any discounts and before tax). Free shipping does not apply to shipments going to Nunuvut and some other remote locations.

Shipping Costs

We have worked with various carriers to be able to offer very competitive shipping rates throughout Canada and USA.

You can estimate shipping costs without having to complete the checkout process. Simply add items to your shopping cart, enter your postal code or zipcode, and then press the “Estimate Shipping and Tax button”.

Shipping costs vary depending on your location and order size.

Shipping To PO Box Addresses

We would be happy to ship to rural address or PO boxes via Canada Post in Canada.

Local Pickup At Our Warehouse

Our products are all stored and shipped out via our warehouse. We DO NOT have a physical retail store.
If you are in the area and would like to save the cost of shipping you can choose the “local pickup” shipping option during checkout.  We will contact you by email or phone to confirm an approximate pickup time after your order is placed.

Canada Shipping Times

If you are ordering supplies or gifts for an upcoming event please include the date in the comment section during checkout. If for some reason we think your order may not arrive in time we will contact you.

Within Canada we use a combination of UPS, Purolator, and Canada Post.

Here are the typical shipping times with standard ground service.

Express services are also available.

Alberta: Typical Shipping time: 1-3 business days.

British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba: Typical Shipping time: 2-4 business days.

Ontario, Quebec: Typical Shipping time: 4-6 business days.

Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island: Typical Shipping time: 5-7 business days.

Northwest Territories, Yukon: Typical Shipping time: 4-6 business days.

USA Shipping

Several shipping options are provided for USA bound shipments.  Shipping services with UPS and DHL Express are available.

International Shipping

Our website is not setup for shipping to other countries however we can arrange these orders through email. We can also arrange shipping to your freight forwarder.
